UNIONDALE, NY – The Bruins opted not to mess with a lineup combination that was working, and kept Ryan Spooner out of the lineup in favor of Jordan Caron among their top 12 forwards. Spooner was out on the ice with Zach Trotman and Chris Kelly after the regulars came off the ice at Monday’s optional morning skate, and Claude Julien made sure to never say he was in the lineup when speaking with the media at Nassau Coliseum.

Spooner has only a pair of assists in his last eight games, and it’s seemed as if the rigors of the NHL schedule began to wear down the 21-year-old as time passed along with the Black and Gold.

That means Daniel Paille was skating with the third line, and Jordan Caron was riding on the left wing with Gregory Campbell and Shawn Thornton as Boston’s energy line.

It will be Chad Johnson vs. Kevin Poulin in the battle of goaltenders as the Isles look to snap a two-game losing streak, and the Bruins intend to keep a train rolling that’s taken seven out of eight points in their last four games.

Here are the line combos and D-pairings based on the pregame skate:
