Every hockey loving puck head got a chance to see how much Gregory Campbell “gets it” on the ice when he gritted his way through a broken leg to finish off a penalty kill shift during the Eastern Conference Finals. Every Thanksgiving they get to see how much the fourth line “gets it” off the ice as well. Campbell will spend his third straight Thanksgiving morning purchasing, donating and delivering pies from Mike’s Pastry to homeless shelters and charitable organizations around Boston.

Mike’s Pastry, a staple in the North End and this humble hockey writer’s only choice when looking for a cannoli, provides $2,000 worth of pies for the Turkey Day delivers at a discounted price. Cambell will make the deliveries to New England Center for Homeless Veterans, Home for Little Wanderers, St. Francis House, and Pine Street Inn.

Campbell’s pie deliveries will be documented exclusively on NBC during an intermission of the Bruins vs. New York Rangers 'Discover NHL Thanksgiving Showdown' game on Friday, November 29 at 1:00 p.m.

Members of the Bruins organization will deliver the remainder of the pies to the following charitable groups: Boston Children’s Hospital, Boston Ronald McDonald House, Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Community Servings, Franciscan Hospital for Children, Haley House, Heading Home, Home Away Boston, Patrick Thompson Suite at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Yawkey Family Inn, Rosie's Place, Temporary Home for Women and Children, and Women’s Lunch Place.
