On Sunday the NHL announced 2014-15 home openers around the league, and the Bruins will kick off play at the TD Garden against the Philadelphia Flyers on Oct. 8.

That game will serve as one of the league's first of the season as it takes place on the NHL's opening night. Montreal at Toronto, Vancouver at Calgary and San Jose at Los Angeles are the other games taking place on Oct. 8.

The Bruins will then play the next day (Oct. 9) out in Detroit for the Red Wings' home opener. On Oct. 16 they'll travel to Montreal for the Canadiens' home opener at the Bell Centre.
The entire Bruins schedule will be released later this afternoon.
