Joe Haggerty and Mike Giardi check in with the Great American Hockey Show after Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Bruins were considered underdogs coming into the series and they played like it Saturday night. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that Haggerty awarded the Compete Level award to the entire Bruins squad.

The B's scrapped and scrummed and withstood some close calls to pull off a statement win in Game 1.

A combination of luck, persistence and bonehead moves from the Penguins allowed the Bruins to jump out to an early lead and throw the Pens off their game.

The turning point in the game may have been after the period was over.

Haggerty says Crosby "showed his true colors" when he elbowed Tuukka Rask as the two were skating off the ice, and then hid behind the refs when Zdeno Chara came over to defend his goalie.
