The Bruins opening four games of their first round playoff series with the Washington Capitals has been released. It includes a Thursday night opener at TD Garden, a nationally televised game on Saturday on NBC, and two days off in Washington DC between games.

The Bruins will open against the Caps with a 7:30 start at TD Garden on Thursday, April 12 and host Game 2 at 3 p.m. on Saturday afternoon to be televised nationally on the NBC Network.

That will be followed by road games in Washington, D.C. on Monday April 16 and Thursday April 19, both 7:30 pm starts. Then the series will return to Boston for another Saturday afternoon matinee at TD Garden if the Bruins-Capitals series goes past four games.

Game 6 would be Sunday, April 22 at the Verizon Center if needed, and a potential Game 7 would be Wednesday, April 25, at TD Garden.

That means the teams could have two days off between games on two separate occasions a rarity in the game-every-other day mode of the playoffs. Here is the full schedule with American and Canadian broadcast rights:
