The Bruins have announced the roster for the upcoming Bruins Development Camp this week. Its got both the usual expected names, and a bit of local flavor as well.
The Bruins selections from last weekends NHL Draft will be in attendance headed by first round pick Malcolm Subban and Charlestown native Matthew Grzelcyk. Uber-prospects Dougie Hamilton, Ryan Spooner and Jared Knight will be like grizzled veterans among the fresh-faced youngsters at Ristuccia Arena.
The sixth annual Bs Development Camp will open on Thursday, June 28, and run through Monday, July 2 at Ristuccia Arena. On-ice practice sessions and skating drills will be held along with scrimmages at the end of the week.
The development camp features 29 players. There will be 15 forwards, eight defensemen and six goaltenders, including the 22 players that are currently within the Bruins organization after last weekends draft.
Seven undrafted free agents were invited to join the 22 Bs prospects, and each player invited is a product of NCAA hockey including Boston College netminder Parker Milner. Here is the roster expected to attend this weeks sixth annual development camp:
Forwards: Darik Angeli, Anthony Camara, Colin Campbell, Daniel Carr, Justin Courtnall, Brian Ferlin, Justin Florek, Seth Griffith, Colton Hargrove, Alex Khokhlachev, Jared Knight, Cody Payne, Ben Sexton, Wayne Simpson and Ryan Spooner.
Defensemen: Matt Benning, Chris Casto, Tommy Cross, Matthew Grzelcyk, Dougie Hamilton, Torey Krug, Robbie OGara and Zach Trotman.
Goaltenders: Zane Gothberg, Parker Milner, Adam Morrison, Malcolm Subban, Niklas Svedberg, Lars Volden.
