BOSTON - Again, the Bruins will be undermanned on the defensive end.
Claude Julien said before Sunday's Game 2 between the Bruins and the Red Wings that Matt Bartkowski, who is fighting the flu, will not play.
"Bartkowski’s out," Julien said, "and then we’ll have the other 7 D’s out for warmup, and we’ll make a decision after the warmup."
After Friday's game, Julien said that "hopefully" Bartkowski would be able to give it a go on Sunday, but clearly he hasn't improved much..
Kevan Miller also didn't suit up for Game 1, suffering from what appears to be the same bug that Bartkowski has. He appears to be returning for Game 2 after taking a normal turn with Andrej Meszaros during pregame warm-ups.
Corey Potter and Andrej Meszaros started in both players' places in Game 1 and did commendable jobs. Meszaros will get the call again on Sunday.
