The Bruins fourth line, aka the Merlot line, the energy line, and Fribble line, where Gregory Campbell centers Shawn Thornton and Daniel Paille, is considered in many circles to be the best fourth line the NHL has to offer. The line continues to give the Bruins the same spark they delivered in the 2011 Stanley Cup run, and gave New York Rangers forwards nightmares in the Eastern Conference semifinals.
But the fourth line is up for a big challenge in the conference finals according to Tony Amonte.
“The [Penguins] third line center, Brandon Sutter, the fourth line center, Jussi Jokinen, you have experienced guys down there,” said Amonte. “You have offensive guys down there. It’s going to be a different series, they’re not going to be playing Dorsett or other players from the Rangers that could barely stay in the league.”
