It appeared the Bruins had multiple chances to put the game away throughout the three overtimes in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
But each time, they came up short.
That was ultimately the difference-maker as Andrew Shaw scored in the third overtime to lift the Blackhawks to the 4-3 win and 1-0 series lead over the B's.
After the game, Tony Amonte said on Postgame Live that the Bruins had the better opportunities in the extra frames, but simply couldn't convert.
"It could've gone either way," Amonte said. "The Bruins had plenty of opportunities to end this not only in the third overtime, but in the first and second also."
According to Amonte, sometimes that's just how overtime hockey goes.
"Incredible how things turn out in a hockey game, it always comes down to the littlest things, as it did [in Game 1]," Amonte said.
