UConn men's basketball coach Jim Calhoun was injured in a biking accident Saturday and had to miss his charity All-Star event scheduled for the Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday night in Uncasville, Conn.

Many of Calhoun's former players return for the game, including former Celtics guard Ray Allen, now with the Miami Heat.

Calhoun sustained broken ribs in a biking accident a few years ago. Early reports say he may have broken his hip in this mishap.

More from the Hartford Courant:

Multiple school sources said Calhoun , 70, broke his hip in a fall near his summer home in Madison. Calhoun is an avid bike rider.

Former UConn players were gathering at the arena for the event as the news spread.
