Training camp no walk in the park for C's

WALTHAM - After spending the past week bonding in Istanbul and Milan while getting lots of love from EuroCeltics Nation, the Boston Celtics are back to grinding away in training camp.

After going for more than two hours at the practice facility on Wednesday, a drenched Kevin Garnett provided insight into how grueling practice had been.

"Tough practice today," Garnett said. "It was hard, a very physical practice but a very good one. It felt like a playoff practice today."

Indeed, the plan gong into Wednesday's practice was to work the team pretty hard after giving them Monday (a travel day) and Tuesday off.

"We ran them a lot," said C's coach Doc Rivers. "It was a hard practice. I thought we needed it off the trip. We took two days off which you never do in training camp. And I think we have to get in better shape. With all those, you have a hard practice."

Rivers said the team had a couple of good practices overseas, "but overall, everything was shorter. You had to be careful because guys were still jet-lagged. So the trip was good for us. Now we can get back to work."

Avery Bradley (recovery from shoulder surgeries) and Chris Wilcox (back) did not practice. There is still no timetable for when they will resume full team participation.
