Shots don't fall for Terry against Bucks

BOSTONThe Boston Celtics got just about every shot they wanted against the Milwaukee Bucks, with far too many failing to go down.

No one symbolized the kind of night it was for the C's better than Jason Terry whose offensive struggles were among the many contributing factors in Boston's 99-94 overtime loss.

Terry, one of the NBA's all-time great 3-point shooters, missed 14 of his 15 shot attempts which included him clanking eight of his nine 3-point attempts.

To his credit, Terry stood tall when it came time to discuss what was arguably his worst game as a Celtic.

"That was frustrating," Terry said of his play. "For me, being a shooter, and getting looks that you wanted and then they're not falling for you, especially when your team needs you most."

Indeed, the C's were desperate for someone, anyone to give Paul Pierce some help in carrying the offensive load.

The Captain turned in yet another brilliant performance with a game-high 35 points on 13-for-23 shooting.

Boston's other four starters were a combined 10-for-42 from the field.

"We got them great shots; just couldn't make them," said C's coach Doc Rivers. "And I thought as the game went on you know you press more and more to make them and we just couldn't. So, it was one of those games."

Especially for Terry who had his second game of the season in which he made just one field goal while taking at least 10 shots from the field. The first was in a loss at Philadelphia on Dec. 7 when he missed 11 of his 12 shots from the field.

But Terry has made more than his share of shots in the NBA.

So for him to struggle like he did on Friday won't put a dent in his confidence.

"Shooters shoot," Terry said. "So I guarantee I'll be back out there (Saturday) morning getting my shots up, trying to make it right."

Said Rivers: "I bet of his 15 (shots), 12 of them were as good as you can get. So it's just one of those nights now. They didn't come in the game trying to miss ... just the ball wouldn't go in."
