Rondo not dwelling on future without Big Three

Rajon Rondo learned early on that basketball is a business. After his rookie season, he saw nearly half his team dealt away in trades to acquire Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen in the summer of 2007.

Since winning a championship in 2008, his best friend, Kendrick Perkins, was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder, and Rondo has been part of trade rumors himself. This week, Yahoo! Sports reported the Celtics looked into trading both Allen and Paul Pierce this season.

Facing the expiring contracts of Allen, 36, and Garnett, 35, this summer, the 26-year-old point guard knows nothing is certain next season and the New Big Three era could come to an end.

I just go with the flow, Rondo recently told CSNNE.com. I dont really dwell on what may come in the future because the future isnt promised to me. So why worry about something when I cant control it?

Whatever his teammates decide to do, he wants them to be happy, whether it is with the Celtics or elsewhere. In the meantime, he is trying to capitalize on their chances for a title this season.

Im not a cheesy person, Rondo said. Im kind of just go with the flow, wish them well as far as health, wish myself well with it, try to make this run at it. These may be our last days, they may not be. They may all re-sign with the Celtics. You never know.

He continued, I would like them to be happy wherever they go. They might decide to retire. You never know. . . . You never know. So as long as theyre happy, Im happy.
