Report: Raja Bell interested in Celtics

Who says Boston's not a desirable free-agent destination? (OK, maybe besides Ray Allen.)

According to a report, Raja Bell will be bought out by the Utah Jazz, and among the teams he's hoping he could join is the Celtics.

From The Salt Lake Tribune:
Bell's already drawn interest from several clubs since free agency began July 1, and he acknowledged teams such as Miami, Boston and the Los Angeles Lakers are interesting to him. He would not specify which organizations have recently shown interest, though, since his buyout had previously not been made public and he wants to respect the Jazz's role in the process.

As soon as Bell's buyout is official, he would essentially be a free agent. It had been reported previously that Bell was interested in Miami and LA, but for now, he's not saying which team has the best chance of landing him.

"We typically play it pretty close to the vest. Agent Herb Rudoy and I are pretty private," Bell told the Tribune. "But, in essence, I'm pretty much a free agent. I don't think the Is are dotted and the Ts are crossed. But we've been given the green light by Utah to go ahead and find something that works for us. We've agreed to the terms. So I think it's safe to say now we are in the market again and we're entertaining our options at this point."

Bell, 35, averaged 6.4 points in 23.4 minutes per game in 34 games for the Jazz last season.
