Report: Allen could opt out of Heat deal after one year

For fans stung by Ray Allen's departure to the Miami Heat, this won't make them feel any better, but it is interesting nonetheless.

Allen's deal with the Heat has been reported to be a 3-year deal worth about 9 million, but according to the Miami Herald, Allen could choose to leave Miami after one season on South Beach.

From the Herald:
Heat fans should appreciate Ray Allen next season, because there's no assurance he will be here beyond that. Two sources with direct knowledge tell us that Allens two-year deal with the Heat includes a 3.2 million player option for 2013-14. So if Allen wants to become a free agent again next July, he can.

Too soon to suggest a return to Boston for the 2013-14 season? Yeah, too soon.
