Parish: End of Big Three ‘a sad commentary'

Robert Parish was a member of the Celtics' first Big Three. And he's wistful that the current Big Three's time in Boston appears to be over.

"If it is the end of the Big Three, that's going to be a sad commentary," the ex-Celtic great, who teamed with Larry Bird and Kevin McHale to anchor the great Boston teams of the 1980s, said of the possibility that Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen will no longer be together.

"They've done a great job of continuing the Celtic legacy in terms of winning tradition. And when that time does come with the Big Three is no longer together, I think everybody's going to be proud that they were able to witness what the Big Three was able to accomplish."
