Green waiting on the Green

ORLANDO, Fla.If you're wondering why Jeff Green remains unsigned by the Boston Celtics, well there is indeed a method to the madness that, truthfully, isn't all that maddening.

His agent David Falk tells CSNNE.com that his client remains focused on returning to the C's, but wants to first see what kind of team he would be returning to.

"Jeff has been very pleased with what Danny (Ainge, Boston's president of basketball operations) has done so far with the roster," Falk told CSNNE.com. "As the smoke clears, I expect Jeff to return to Boston."

While no deal has been finalized, Falk reiterated his position earlier this week that he anticipated a deal would be done by the time deals agreed upon during free agency could be binding - Wednesday.

"I don't believe a deal is close until you shake on it, and you pass the pen and are about to sign it," he said. "But Boston is a place that he wants to spend the next three or four years or however many we agree to."

Falk added that his client is hopeful that the Celtics can re-sign Ray Allen.

"He has a tremendous amount of respect for Ray, and believes Ray coming back will give them a great chance at winning a championship," Falk said. "And like Jeff, I've always been a big fan of Ray's as well."

So while the two sides continue to negotiate, it appears as though Green's deal won't be complete until Allen decides on whether to re-sign with Boston or join the C's rival, the Miami Heat.

"As I said earlier, we're watching all the chips fall," Falk said. "Getting Kevin back, re-signing Brandon Bass and hopefully Ray Allen, are all positives in Jeff's eyes."
