Green: ‘Glad that I'm playing again'

Even though the Boston Celtics have yet to officially seal the deal with Jeff Green, all indications remain that he will be a member of the Boston Celtics this season.

In an interview with former Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Damaris Lewis, Green touched on a number of topics in relation to his return to the Boston Celtics next season.

"I feel awesome," was Green's response when asked how he's feeling since he had season-ending heart surgery.

"I actually feel a lot better than I did prior to the surgery. It was a blessing, and I'm doing better now."

As far as playing with the Celtics, Green said, "That jersey has a lot of history in it. I have a great opportunity ahead of myself. I'm glad that I'm playing again."

Although the Celtics have yet to announce Green's signing -- they have announced every other free agent acquisition and re-signing this offseason -- he is believed to be in line for a multi-year deal that averages about 9 million a year.

That's the same amount for which the C's had signed Green prior to his heart condition being detected. The one-year, 9 million contract he originally signed was voided after his heart condition was discovered.
