Fellow rookies getting a kick out of Melo, Sullinger

After spending time together at Summer Leagues and the Rookie Transition Program, the 2012 NBA Draft Class has had the opportunity to get to know each other before their first seasons.

NBA.com polled 39 rookies on a series of topics, from projected Rookie of the Year to most athletic rookie to favorite current player.

Boston Celtics rookies Jared Sullinger (21st pick) and Fab Melo (22nd pick) have made a favorable impression on their counterpartsMelo was voted funniest rookie (22.9 percent) while Sullinger was ranked fourth (8.6 percent) in the category.

Melo, who said in the video that he is working with Celtics assistant coach Mike Longabardi to improve his defense, tied for third place in the best rookie defender category with Jeff Taylor (Charlotte Bobcats).

Among the other superlatives:

Melo received votes for rookie who will have the best career.

Sullinger received votes for most overlooked rookie.

Celtics veteran Kevin Garnett ranked fourth (tied with Dirk Nowitzki) for the rookies favorite player in the NBA.
