C's awaiting word on Rondo status for Game 2

ATLANTAThe Boston Celtics are in the midst of preparing for their Game 2 matchup against Atlanta on Tuesday, still unsure if they'll have Rajon Rondo available.

C's coach Doc Rivers said that the Celtics are still awaiting word from the league office as to whether Rondo will be suspended after he made contact with official Marc Davis - and was ejected for it - in the closing seconds of Boston's 83-74 Game 1 loss on Sunday.

Naturally Rivers would like to know Rondo's availability sooner rather than later.

"The league is going to do what they have to do," Rivers said. "I still don't think it was ever intentional."

Rivers thought Rondo's outburst had more to do with a blown call moments earlier by the officials when the replays showed a loose ball went off of Josh Smith. Instead, the officials ruled that the ball went off of Rondo.
