Celtics sign four players; Green acquisition still not official

The Boston Celtics announced a series of signings on Tuesday with one glaring omission: Jeff Green.

Now that the C's have officially inked deals (including those that are partially guaranteed) with Jamar Smith, Dionte Christmas, Jason Collins and Keyon Dooling, the return of Green remains the lone bit of significant business for the C's to take care of between now and the start of training camp.

In an interview with CSNNE.com last week, Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge indicated that he remained confident that the C's would re-sign Green but acknowledged there was a hold-up in getting the deal finalized.

"I'm not going to talk about what the hold up is," Ainge told CSNNE.com. "But we're involved in a negotiation that I think will get resolved soon."

Of the four announced signings, only Collins and Dooling received fully guaranteed deals with both signing one-year contracts for the veteran's minimum.

With Collins and Dooling officially on board now, Boston now has 12 players with guaranteed contracts. That leaves three players -- Dionte Christmas, Kris Joseph and Jamar Smith -- all vying for what will likely be one or two roster spots once the C's, as expected, sign Jeff Green.
