LOS ANGELESLeandro Barbosa, who has an excused absence from the Boston Celtics to attend to a family situation, took to social media to update his status.
"Guys tomorrow I will return to Boston, thank God everything is good now with my family!!" Barbosa (@TheBlur_Barbosa) tweeted on Thursday.
He is expected to re-join the Celtics in time for Saturday's game against Golden State.
Barbosa later added, "I would like to thank the entire Organization of the @Celtics in special the coach staff and directors for all support!!"
C's coach Doc Rivers confirmed earlier Thursday that Barbosa was not with the team in Los Angeles, adding that at that time he wasn't sure if the 6-foot-3 reserve guard would re-join the team for the remainder of their West Coast trip.
"He's dealing with a tough situation," Rivers said.
Although he was one of the last players signed by the C's this season and has seen limited action, it hasn't taken the Brazilian Blur long to establish himself as a fan favorite among Celtics Nation.
Aware of this, Barbosa had a tweet directed at just them.
"To the fans, I'm sorry to have missed some games, I can't wait to be back and see you all!! Imaceltics"
