Allen: A lot of basketball left in my legs

Ray Allen's time with the Celtics may be through, but his career's not over. Not as far as he's concerned.

The 36-year-old free-agent-to-be said after Game 7 that he plans to undergo surgery soon -- he said he'd do it the next day if he could -- and resume his career. He didn't give so much as a hint that he may retire.

"I dunno what Kevin Garnett's situation is," Allen said. "There's still a lot of basketball left in my legs. I know that for sure. It's hard to say what can, what may happen, but the four of us know how to play basketball and we know how to win games."

The last comment seemed to be Allen's way of saying that he knows the Big Three Era may be done in Boston . . . but if he and Garnett and Pierce and Rondo are back next year . . . well, let's not go there just yet.
