SEATTLE -- Almost exactly halfway through the 2012 season, the Red Sox still haven't found a way to win a game in extra innings.
The Sox dropped to 0-5 in extra innings when they dropped a 3-2 decision to the Seattle Mariners in the 11th inning. Chone Figgins lined a sacrifice fly to right to score Dustin Ackley from third base with one out off Alfredo Aceves, who was working his third inning.
The Sox had 11 hits, but were just 1-for-12 with runners in scoring position. Boston left 10 runners on base for the night.
In the top of the 10th, the Sox got singles from Dustin Pedroia and David Ortiz to start the inning, but couldn't move either past second base.
In the series, the Sox have scored just seven runs in three games and have been held scoreless in 26 of 29 innings.
The Sox had rallied for two runs in the seventh off the Seattle bullpen. Ryan Kalish delivered the first on a fielder's choice and a passed ball by catcher Miguel Olivo accounted for the second.
Josh Beckett, making his first start since June 11 following a stay on the disabled list, went six innings and allowed two runs on four hits.

Beckett was sharp, retiring 12 of the first 13 hitters he faced. He didn't allow a hit until Miguel Olivo lined a single to left with two outs in the fifth.
The Mariners finally got to Beckett in the seventh, when, with one out, four straight hitters reached, culminating with a two-run double to left by John Jaso.
