Shaughnessy: Don't see Beckett as a waiver move

Boston Globe columnist Dan Shaughnessy tells Gary Tanguay on "Uno SportsTonight" that he doesn't think the Red Sox will part with Josh Beckett in a post-deadline waiver deal.

"I do not believe he's going to be put on waivers and picked up," Shaughnessy said. "He's Josh Beckett. He hasn't reached that point."

As for next season, is it time to blow up the roster if the Red Sox miss the playoffs again?

"If this train wreck of a season continues, and it still is a train wreck and they miss the playoffs," Shaughnessy said. "Blowing it up is the way to go."
