Schilling critical of Sox communication

When it comes for insight into something complicated, you can always count on Curt Schilling to chime in.

On Friday, the topic du jour was the Red Sox struggles and the frustration that builds as a result. Schilling says it's a matter of communication.

"Communication is the essential piece to all of it and it doesn't seem like that's going very well here," he said. "That starts at the top in the owner's box and goes all the way to the clubhouse and everyone has to be on the same page.

I played on teams like this and it's hard and it's challenging. The discussion usually never evolves around the nine innings you just played, it's always about the other stuff."

They say winning heals all wounds, but that's something the Red Sox haven't done frequently enough this year to paint over the laundry list of wounds that exist.

"Losing is hard," said Schilling in a major understatement. "And when you have to come off the field and you lose 5-0 and the first question you're taking is about something that had nothing to do with the game you just played, it gets frustrating."
