Boston's David Ortiz reached a milestone Wednesday when he hit his 400th home run against the Oakland A's. He became the eighth active player to reach the milestone and moved into 49th place on the all-time homer list.
Cody Ross congratulated his teammate after the game.
"That was awesome,'' gushed Ross. "Everyone was just waiting for it. It seemed like every pitch, he had a chance to do it. Once it went in the air, there was just a sigh for him, especially for him, just to get that weight off his shoulders. I'm just so happy for him and proud of him."
