BOSTONManager Bobby Valentine said Thursday he had received no word on a potential suspension for Cody Ross, who was ejected Wednesday night after being called out on strikes to end the eighth inning by home plate umpire Alfonso Marquez. Valentine and third-base coach Jerry Royster were also ejected during the incident.
I dont know how the system works so I would guess that . . . I would have any concerns after I know how the system works, Valentine said. It used to be that you'd have to touch someone or say something really bad and it seemed like a guy who was into the moment got excited. That used to be acceptable, but I dont know how the systems working these days.
Valentine didn't think Ross made contact with Marquez.

The ejection was Valentines sixth of the season, a new Red Sox high for a player, coach, or manager in one season. It was also the 43rd time in his managerial career he had been ejected,
I can tell you this year Ive done less in all six times than I ever did before, Valentine said. So its a different system.
