McAdam on 2013 MLB Hall of Fame class

The Hall of Fame voting will be a hot topic around the baseball world for quite a while now.

Why?

The "Steroid Era" players are now eligible to be voted in, and it's up to the writers to decide if the PED's they allegedly took will prevent them from getting in.

In this case, it's Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens.

So what does our Red Sox Insider, who has a vote, say about it?

"To state the obvious, both of them numerically and statistically had carers that would be in any other era absent of PED taint, would be sure-fire, no-questions-asked first-ballot Hall-of-Famers. But you have to take into the account that bonds acknowledges use of the clear and the cream though he said he was unaware of the implications. And Clemens, who has been named in the Mitchell Report, and certainly has been alleged to have been a user although it has not been proven.

"The difference between both of those guys and say someone like Sammy Sosa is that you could argue that bonds and Clemens had Hall of Fame careers before their alleged use began. Sosa is pretty much start to finish so I take him out of the equation. I would not under any circumstance vote for Sosa. I am still deliberating on Bonds and Clemens and I have a few more weeks to do it. I like to procrastinate, and I'm going to do it.
