McAdam: Sox owners won't sell with team such a mess

The NFL's Cleveland Browns fetched a 1 billion purchase price, the Dodgers went for 2.1 billion. What would John Henry get for the Red Sox?

It doesn't matter, says CSNNE.com Red Sox insider Sean McAdam. Henry and his fellow Sox owners could double their original investment of 660 million, but with the team in disarray both on and off the field, Henry & Co. couldn't afford the PR hit if they sold right now, McAdam says.

"They're not going to sell right now because their ego and PR investment would not allow it," McAdam tells his fellow panelists on "The Baseball Show."

"They can't leave town with the franchise where it is now," McAdam said.

Counters Bob Neumeier, "If they don't sell it proves to me that they're making money here."
