BOSTONAdrian Gonzalez went 3-for-5 with two doubles and two runs scored in the nightcap of Saturdays doubleheader against the Yankees at Fenway Park. He extended his hitting streak to a career-best 18 games. It is the longest active streak in the majors and the longest by a Sox batter this season.He is batting .377, going 29-for-77 with five doubles, a home run, nine RBI, and 11 runs scored in the streak. In that time he has raised his season average from .257 to .284, while raising his on-base percentage from .310 to .330 and his slugging percentage from .398 to .417.Hes been swinging the bat well, said manager Bobby Valentine. Hes put together a good week or so and he feels like hes found something and it looks like hes found something.Gonzalez went 1-for-4 in the first game of the doubleheader.
