BOSTON -- Quick hits from Monday's pregame media session at Fenway Park, via Twitter updates from Maureen Mullen and Joe Haggerty:

VALENTINE'S JOB STATUS
Bobby Valentine was grilled for 15 minutes worth of "getting fired" questions from media after closed-door meeting with owner John Henry, president Larry Lucchino and general manager Ben Cherington.

When asked about the subject of his meeting with Henry, Valentine responded: "It's not polite to say none of your business."

When asked if he was managing for his job, Valentine said: "I feel like I'm managing for my job every day."

When asked if he wants a vote of confidence, Valentine said: "Im not in that space. Im thinking about the game tonight."

DAVID ORTIZ
Valentine said Ortiz received an injection in his right Achilles.

INJURY UPDATES
Rich Hill will probably go to Fort Myers after the end of the homestand on Wednesday. He may throw BP first, then pitch in a Gulf Coast League game.

Andrew Bailey will pitch for the PawSox in back-to-back games on Wednesday and Thursday. He'll have a few more outings after that before being recalled to the Red Sox.
