During this past winter, many people were surprised the Red Sox were not in on the bidding for Cuban outfielder Yoenis Cespedes. A report in February indicated that the Red Sox were more interested in 20-year-old Cuban outfielder Jorge Soler.
That interest will now be put to the test as Soler has reportedly become a free agent after being cleared by the U.S. Treasury Department.
While Cespedes' market never materialized as expected, Soler's market is projected to be greater because of his age.
