Crawford ‘feels great' after spring debut

BOSTON -- An update on two players on the disabled list from Bobby Valentine Tuesday afternoon:
Carl Crawford, who has been sidelined following wrist surgery in January and a more recent bout with elbow soreness, took part in his first extended spring training game earlier Tuesday.
Crawford had four plate appearances in a game. He drew a walk, made contact three times and attempted a stolen base.
"And felt great after the game,'' added Valentine.
Jacoby Ellsbury (right shoulder subluxation) was examined further and continued his treatment."He manipulated his shoulder a little -- just hand manipulation,'' said Valentine, "just for some range of motion.''
Dr. Lewis Yocum also viewed the MRI of Ellsbury's shoulder and concurred on the original diagnosis.
"I don't know that there's anything on the horizon other than just normal treatment,'' said Valentine, "and see how he feels day-to-day.''
