Ciriaco clutch hit helps Sox edge Jays 3-2

TORONTO -- For the first time since the last weekend in August, the Red Sox have won consecutive games.

Pedro Ciriaco's two-out double in the ninth inning scored Jarrod Saltalamacchia with the go-ahead run as the Sox edged the Toronto Blue Jays, 3-2, for their second straight
win.

The victory pulled the Sox into a tie in the fourth spot American League East.

Craig Breslow, who pitched the eighth, got credit for the win as Andrew Bailey nailed down his second save in as many games.

The teams had traded solo runs through the first five innings. After the Jays used an RBI-double from Adam Lind off starter Clay Buchholz (seven innings, two runs allowed), Cody
Ross answered with his 21st homer in the second.

The Sox went up for the first time in the fourth when Saltalamacchia singled home Ross. The Jays answered an inning later when Lind delivered a sacrifice fly.

Boston then squandered several scoring opportunities. The fourth, seventh and eighth innings all ended with a Red Sox baserunner stranded on third.
