ARLINGTON, Texas -- This time, Josh Beckett's problems didn't come in the early going. Those came later.Beckett, who allowed four runs in the first two innings of his last outing and three starts ago yielded five runs in the first, pitched out of early-inning trouble Wednesday night against the mighty Texas Rangers, stranding four runners in the first three innings. But in the fourth, he blew a two-run lead, then couldn't hold a tie in the seventh when he wild-pitched the go-ahead run home in a 5-3 loss to Texas, the Red Sox' sixth defeat in the last seven games. The Sox built a 2-0 lead with a run in the first and a solo blast by Will Middlebrooks in the fourth. But Texas stitched together a big fourth inning against Beckett, 5-9, with five hits in the span of seven batters, scoring three times.A solo homer by Dustin Pedroia -- his first homer since July 1 -- tied the game at 3-3 in the sixth, but in the bottom of the next inning, Beckett self-destructed, plunking Elvis Andrus with one out, allowing a single to Adrian Beltre, and finally, uncorking a wild pitch which scored Andrus from third.Nelson Cruz tacked on an insurance run when he belted the second pitch from Matt Albers into the seats in right in the eighth. The Sox are now 13-24 in games started by Beckett and Jon Lester.
