We know the Red Sox will be in the postseason and we know it will be in a five-game series. What we don't know, is who they will face.
The guys from The Baseball Show discuss the toughest opponents, and for most, it's the opponents the Sox know best.
Tampa Bay is the choice for Dan Shaughnessy and Sean McAdam. The Rays have a rotation that can shut down anyone in the league. Many a postseason dreams have been shattered at the hands of a hot rotation.
The Rays could throw David Price and Matt Moore three times in a five-game series and that could spell trouble for the Sox.
McAdam is also worried about the Orioles. Baltimore has had Boston's number over the last year and half, and anything can happen in the playoffs.
Lou Merloni is on board with the Rays, but thinks if the Royals can get into the playoffs, they'd be a team to avoid. The Royals, say Merloni, have a better rotation than Baltimore and better bullpen than Tampa Bay.
Bob Neumeier is weary of the Rangers. Texas has been in a nose dive this month, but they're nine games over .500 on the road.
Which potential opponent scares you the most?
