Got that September 2011 feeling yet?

After limping home from a 4-6 trip, including series losses in Kansas City and Toronto, Red Sox fans can't help but think back to that 7-20 September freefall.

The Herald's John Tomase doesn't see the Sox choking away their playoff hopes down the stretch this time.

On "Uno Sports Tonight," Tomase told Gary Tanguay this Sox team "was made not to blow things in September."

Tomase originally picked the Rays to win the AL East but says now he thinks the Sox will hang on.

"They have a lot of composure," Tanguay said. "They don't get rattled."

The schedule breakdown the rest of the way: 39 games left, 25 vs. the AL East (starting with the weekend series at Fenway with the Yankees), 28 vs. teams above .500, 21 at home, 18 on the road.

"Once they get back from the West Coast [where they play the Giants and Dodgers next week]," Tomase said. "The schedule favors them."
