A raucous Fenway crowd and the first multihomer playoff game of David Ortiz's career gave the Red Sox a stranglehold on their ALDS series with the Tampa Bay Rays.
Ortiz launched two blasts off David Price - the first homers Ortiz had ever hit off Price -- the second of which caused some tension.
Price thought Ortiz lingered too long in the batter's box, while Ortiz said he wasn't sure if the ball was fair or foul.
Price allowed seven runs over seven innings.
John Lackey was far from sharp after more than a week and a half between starts, but he was good enough to pick up the win and put the Red Sox one win away from closing out the series.
