Xander Bogaerts' time with the Red Sox is coming very soon.

Just how soon?

John Ryder of WEEI joined the Lou Merloni and Glenn Ordway on UNO's Sports Tonight to discuss when the Red Sox should call up their top prospect.

"I think he should be up." Said Ryder, "I think it happens… It has to happen in the next couple  weeks.  Doesn't it? I think it's time."

Why hasn't it happened yet?

"No clear-cut answer, it's just more seasoning.  That's what we keep hearing, more seasoning." continued Ryder, "It seems like the time is now.  Unless they end up calling up Middlebrooks."

Lou Merloni thinks that the 20-year-old offers more than the other third base options.

"I don't think he's going to be great defensively but he's a guy, I think, that can spark this team right now." discussed Merloni, "You can't go into the playoffs with a platoon with Brock Holt and Brandon Snyder."
