GAME 5: PREGAME

There is no data to display.

ST. LOUIS -- No Shane Victorino again today, and this time the Red Sox shuffled their batting order as they prepare to face the Cardinals in Game 5 in the World Series.

Instead of simply plugging someone into Victorino's No. 2 spot in the batting order, as he did when Victorino's back problem flared and forced a lineup change 90 minutes before Game 4, manager John Farrell made a fundamental change in the batting order.

He moved Dustin Pedroia from the No. 3 spot to No. 2, moved David Ortiz from No. 4 to No. 3, and installed Jonny Gomes as the cleanup hitter. Daniel Nava, who batted second Sunday night, will bat fifth.

UPDATED: The Cardinals originally had Matt Adams at first base, but announced about an hour ago that Allen Craig -- in spite of an injured foot that has severely limited his mobility -- will play first and bat sixth.
