Minihane: Drew ‘another terrible' signing

Share

The Red Sox signed another player this offseason, and WEEI's Kirk Minihane is unimpressed. But he's not just unimpressed with Stephen Drew, oh no, it's the whole offseason.

"Spend 9.5 million on Stephen Drew who stunk and was hurt last year, who stunk and was hurt the year before," Minihanes said to Gary Tanguay and Mike Felger. "To bring him in and pay him 10 million dollars to stink and get hurt again in 2013 is another terrible offseaon signing - I know I can't say this - by Ben Cherington. Nobody ever criticizes him for reasons unknown for me. Napoli, it's now been 14 days we don't know what's going on with him, he could be anywhere. Disaster. Drew, bad. Dempster, bad. Vicorino, bad."

Minihane is on the "Trade everybody and rebuild" side of things, but knows the Sox aren't going that way.
