GAME 6: RED SOX 5, TIGERS 2

When the Red Sox constructed this 2013 squad, a lot of eyebrows were raised.

Mike Napoli?

Shane Victorino?

Jonny Gomes?

Really?

There's no questions now, as the Red Sox are heading to their third World Series in the last 10 years.

"You have to be really proud of the way these guys play the game," said Red Sox owner, John Henry. "They've worked so hard."

The Tigers sure didn't make it easy, with the possibility of a no-hitter seeming to hover throughout the majority of the series.

"This pitching was unbelievable," said Henry. "I've never seen six games with that kind of starting pitching, ever."

And how is it, that the Red Sox seem to step on the gas during a time of year when most team's are exhausted?

"When other teams seemed to get tired, they just kicked it up a notch," said Henry. "Force of will…"

With Game 1 of the World Series starting on Wednesday, the Sox will have a couple days to re-build their strength. When the games begin however, it will be pedal to the metal once again.
