BOSTON -- There's the chance Game 6 could be the last time at least four players -- Jacoby Ellsbury, Mike Napoli, Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Stephen Drew -- suit up for the Red Sox. All four are eligible for free agency immediately after the World Series.
But manager John Farrell said their individual situations has never been a distraction.
"That conversation about what's pending for them this offseason has never come before their work,'' said Farrell, "and what our goal is on a given night. And that's to their credit. They've been great team players.
"The system will take care of itself and they're all well aware of that. Some guys for the first time, they're going to approach free agency. But the overwhelming goal is where we stand today. And that's been here all season.''
