The guys from The Baseball Show debate this potential scenario:

If the Red Sox make the playoffs and find themselves in a best-of-five series, it's possible they could use only three pitchers. Which three should make that potential rotation?

Dan Shaughnessy points out that it's difficult to answer without knowing what Clay Buchholz will give the Sox over the remainder of the season. When pressed, Shaughnessy goes with the bulldogs: Jon Lester, Jake Peavy and John Lackey.

Sean McAdam, however, has no doubts.

"[Clay Buchholz will secure] not only one of those spots, but the number one spot," says McAdam.

Buchholz would head a rotation that also includes Lester. For McAdam, the final spot comes down to Peavy or Lackey, and will be decided by whichever pitcher has the hot hand over the course of September.

Bob Neumeier offers a third option, with Lackey - the Sox most consistent pitcher throughout the season - as the No. 1, followed by Peavy and Lester.
