Most would agree the Red Sox and Tigers are the two best teams in the American League. So it wouldn't be surprising if the ALCS managed to go the full seven games.
If that were to come to pass, the Sox would be sending John Lackey to the hill to face Justin Verlander - a repeat of the Game 3 starters.
What are the Red Sox' chances in a win-or-go-home game against the big righty?
"Verlander did not have a good regular season… but obviously in the postseason, he's a different guy," said Gary Tanguay. "I'm scared to death of him. "
Verlander certainly looked to have regained his Cy Young form in the ALDS clincher against the Athletics.
"You as a Red Sox fan should a-scared (to use the old Glen Ordway word) of seeing him on the mound for two starts," said Steve Buckley.
Both Buckley and Tanguay pick the Tigers to win the series.
