Aceves throws bizarre batting practice session

When it comes to interesting characters, Red Sox reliever Alfredo Aceves is up there.

The emotional pitcher has had his fair share of run-ins with teammates and coaches, and was actually suspended last season for one of them.

The Red Sox are desperately trying to rid themselves of the disaster of last year's season, but on Sunday, Aceves reminded everybody that it wasn't that long ago.

For whatever reason -- we still have no idea -- he didn't throw his batting practice pitches at the speed he was supposed to. He was talked to by the team's pitching coach Juan Nieves before picking up his speed, and later talked to by manager John Farrell.

Mike Giardi has the full story on the pitcher whose head doesn't appear to be on straight.
