SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- One fortunate fan will get a chance to take swings off Tim Lincecum next spring. The Giants ace is challenging fans to a video competition in which they are asked to duplicate his unorthodox delivery on video for an opportunity to hit -- or strike out, for that matter -- against the two-time NL Cy Young Award winner at spring training next year. The entry period for fans to submit their best version of the right-hander's pitching motion began Tuesday and goes through Sept. 16. They can go to facebook.comtimlincecum. Lincecum says the "Red Bull Ultimate" competition will be judged in multiple rounds based on creativity, originality, performance and skill level, and demonstrated passion for the sport and Lincecum. Entries are limited to one per person. Lincecum, the shaggy haired four-time All-Star, is 10-9 with a 2.69 ERA and 165 strikeouts this season for the reigning World Series champions.
