With the Patriots bringing back the much maligned Patrick Chung, it got us thinking for a topic in tonight's episode of Arbella Early Edition with Gary Tanguay and Trenni Kusnierek...
Which former Boston athlete would you want to bring back to town?
Some of the players we thought of were Paul Pierce, Tyler Seguin, Tim Thomas, Kendrick Perkins, Jacoby Ellsbury, Wes Welker, Aqib Talib...
Kusnierek has a recent departure in mind.
"I know it's not poplular. But I'd like to see Stephen Drew back with the Red Sox," she said. "That .984 fielding percentage. In the American League, the AL East especeially, it'd be nice to have a little defense."
Another ex-Red Sox came to mind for Tanguay.
"I'm going to go with Josh Reddick," he said of the outfielder, who went to Oakland and found his power stroke. "Every time I see a highlight I say I'd love to have him here."
Welker is another who gets Kusnierek's vote. Tanguay has more ex-Sox on his list: Jacoby Ellsbury and Jonathan Papelbon,
Kusnierek also puts in a good word for Paul Pierce, who she'd like to see finish his career in Celtic green. "He could come back. He could be a leader," she said envisioning the former captain with the current young C's.
