FOXBORO -- The Patriots home opener couldn't be played on a better day.
Two hours before kickoff the temperature is in the mid 60's with the expectation it'll hit 71 degrees by game time. Humidity is low and wind is slight, recorded around 11 mph.
A perfect early fall afternoon in New England.
Gillette Stadium's field turf is pristine and several Cardinals came out early to get a feel for the footing. Larry Fitzgerald was among the receivers jogging through a few routes.
Patriots rookie Chandler Jones was one of the first out for the home team, listening to music as he wandered along the field's perimeter.
Soaking it all in, no doubt.
